Hydrogen atoms are used as objects on which they act, since the human body is saturated with them due to its biochemical composition.

    The magnetic field of high intensity, acting on the nucleus of the hydrogen atom, induces a change in the position in space of the only elementary particle of which it consists - the proton. In this case, the magnetic moment of the proton can be in the same direction or in different directions in the magnetic field. After the termination of the latter, part of the protons, which have changed their direction, return to their original state, releasing energy, which is recorded by the tomograph's sensor system. Based on the observation of the reaction of protons, it is possible to reveal in which tissue a particular atom is located.
