In order not to harm the baby, the mother tries to use the most safe drugs. Is it possible to use Anaferon nursing mom? After all, he is able to support the body and help him fight the disease.

Some doctors consider it ineffective, attributed to him the placebo effect. Others appreciate as a very effective and at the same time safe drug. After all, he really helps many. Anaferon for gv often successfully used by mothers.

Anaferon is a well-known antiviral, immune stimulating drug. It is taken in the treatment and preventive measures of orz, influenza, herpes, bacterial infections, etc. It is not a biologically active additive or a homeopathic remedy. In fact, it is a water-alcohol solution with antibodies to human gamma interferon.

The recommended regimen for taking Anaferona when breastfeeding:

  • When the first signs of the disease appear within the first 1.5-2 hours, it is necessary to take 1 pc. every half hour (5 pieces in 2 hours),
  • further during the day - another 3 pcs. every 2-3 hours
  • the next day - 3 pcs. after about the same time intervals
  • until the end of the course (5-7 days), follow the dosage of 3 pcs. per day.

Tablets are placed under the tongue and gradually dissolve. Welcome at any time of the day, before or after meals. The drug can be used in combination with any other drugs.

So, we conclude that it is appropriate to use Anaferon during breastfeeding, but in the absence of an individual undesirable reaction, the woman’s hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. The decision on the appropriateness of his admission should always be made by a doctor on the basis of the overall clinical picture.

Indications for use

The drug is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of viral diseases, such as SARS and influenza during seasonal epidemics. He is advised to drink during complex therapy:

  • herpes virus infections (chickenpox, genital and labial herpes),
  • rotavirus (intestinal flu) and enterovirus infections,
viral diseases of the respiratory system,
  • bacterial infections and their complications (adeno-and coronaviruses),
    tick-borne encephalitis.

It is believed that taking Anaferon can reduce the dose of other drugs that are prescribed for viral diseases - antipyretic and painkillers. The drug has no contraindications, no side effects have been identified and it is impossible to overdose. Children are prescribed from the age of one month; they are prescribed during pregnancy and lactation.

Tablets are placed under the tongue and dissolve. Reception does not depend on food intake, they are taken at any time of the day, but not with meals. (For children let out "Anaferon® children's" with a low dosage.)

It is necessary to start treatment immediately, as you notice symptoms of an ARVI, flu or intestinal infection:

  • in the first 2 hours - one tablet is taken every 30 minutes, a total of 5 tablets are obtained in two hours,
before the end of the day, take another 3 tablets at regular intervals,
  • on the second day of treatment, drink one tablet three times a day until recovery (for influenza and acute respiratory viral infections - 5-7 days, for other diseases, the duration of the course is indicated by the doctor).

During pregnancy and lactation, a woman’s immunity is weakened, and her chronic diseases, including viral ones, can be exacerbated. With the exacerbation of genital herpes in 1-3 days, one tablet is taken up to eight times a day, the next three weeks - by tablet four times a day.

The drug does not interact with other drugs, it can be combined with any other symptomatic antiviral drugs. For the prevention of flu and colds, Anferon® begins to drink a month or two before the seasonal epidemic: take a pill once a day every day. For the prevention of exacerbation of herpes infection, the course may last up to six months.

Medicine, homeopathy or dietary supplements?

Despite his popularity, the debate around Anaferon has not subsided for many years. Some doctors prescribe it for any viral infection, others call it not a medicine, but a biologically active additive (BAA) or homeopathy and claim that the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies cannot be proved. Others even consider the drug as a “dummy” - a placebo - and they say that it helps “only those who believe in it”.

Formally, Anaferon® is not a dietary supplement or a homeopathic remedy. It is registered as a drug for the prevention and treatment of viral infections and, by its composition, is a “water-alcohol mixture of purified antibodies to human gamma interferon”. With homeopathic remedies, it is united by the manufacturing technology (multiple consecutive dilution of the drug base) and, accordingly, an ultra-small amount of the active substance in the finished product:

  • in the first stage, the rabbits are immunized with recombinant human γ-interferon. Antibodies form in the blood of animals
  • the solution of antibodies to human γ-interferon isolated from serum of rabbit blood is diluted many times: in a liquid drug base, 1 part of the antibody solution contains 99 parts of an aqueous-alcoholic solvent,
  • the resulting base is mixed with excipients-fillers (lactose, cellulose, magnesium stearate) and made syrup or pressed tablets.

With such a strong dilution, one healing molecule accounts for more than one single dose of the drug. Simply put, it falls into every tenth or even hundredth pill! But having set a goal to find the “winning lottery ticket”, it is impossible to do this. Modern laboratory studies are not able to detect such a scant presence of a substance not only in a separate tablet, but also in the base, which is impregnated with filler. True, they do not allow even to state that he is not there.

The second controversial point to which skeptic doctors pay attention is the mechanism itself of the effect of the drug, assuming that it does work. When viral pathogens enter the body, the immune system begins to produce a protective protein, interferon. And in the claimed preparation contains antibodies to interferon, that is, substances that inactivate it ... However, it helps some people! And not only adults who can inspire themselves that it became easier for them, but also young children.

Without going into details of medical discussions, one can say that neither supporters of Anaferon could not prove its effectiveness, nor its opponents - its uselessness. So is Anaferon® taken for colds during lactation? It will not help, so nothing terrible will happen - a viral infection sooner or later will pass by itself. If only he did not hurt the baby while breastfeeding!

Anaferon nursing mom

If homeopathic medicines are really just useless sugar-starch syrups and candies that only help with the power of suggestion, then Anaferon® will not harm a nursing mother and her baby. But the mechanism of action on the body of ultra-low doses of medication is almost not studied, and moreover, no one conducted special studies, as it affects the course of the mother's illness during lactation.

Therefore, before using the drug, it is best to consult a doctor. Many pediatricians, having seen in the instructions a line of "data on the efficacy and safety of using the drug during lactation is not," prefer not to prescribe this medicine to a nursing mother. But if you have appointed him - do not be afraid that you will not find any evidence that Anaferon® has hurt anyone, either in one medical study.

But do not forget about the warm vitamin infusion of rose hips, drink tea with raspberries, rinse your nose with saline and rinse your throat. Folk anti-cold remedies will definitely not harm the crumbs while breastfeeding, in addition, excessive drinking increases lactation

But to take the drug, so as not to infect the baby or alleviate his condition, is absolutely not necessary! After all, the mother's body fights the infection, and the breastfed baby gets her “natural antiviral serum” and begins to produce her own antibodies to the pathogen.
